Benzylsalicylat bruges i vid udstrækning i parfumeri som en nøglestrukturel komponent i mange kompositioner og er en nøglekomponent i Mellis-accorden. Alene lugter det subtilt, varmt, balsamisk og kronbladlignende. Det er meget nyttigt som en langvarig strukturel komponent til at understøtte blomsteraccords og hjertet af parfumer generelt. Det hjælper med at blande andre materialer og bruges ofte rigeligt.
