Linalylacetat er en af hovedbestanddelene af både Bergamot og Lavendel essentielle olier. Alene lugter det blødere og renere, repræsenterende en enkelt blød fuzzy tone. Det er fremragende som blander mellem top- og midternoter i parfumekompositioner, der udfylder de andre materialer med en varm blødhed (lig hvordan Bergamot traditionelt bruges, men med mindre af en åbenlys citruskarakter). Dette materiale bruges i vid udstrækning i moderne parfumekompositioner.
