Salary: £27,300
Hours: Monday-Friday 9:30-5:30 (7 hours with 1 hour break; 35 hours per week)

About us
The Fragrance Foundry is a start-up selling art supplies to perfumers. This includes scales, bottles, pipettes, essential oils and other perfume making supplies. Our aim is to become the best place to purchase perfumery supplies worldwide. We have grown substantially in the last year and are looking to continue that trend far into the future as we continue to expand our operations. We are currently looking for a new full-time team member.
We are located in a rural business park located in the stunning Hertfordshire countryside, between Royston and Buntingford (on the A10). Our office is a peaceful barn with heritage features and the location has panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Please note that our site is not accessible via public transport and so you’ll need to drive into work.
Your role
Your role will be to help manage our perfumery raw materials. This includes contributing to the sourcing and onboarding of raw materials to our catalogue, responsibility for filling our raw materials into end-user packaging ready for our warehouse team to ship out, and there will be opportunities to assist with perfumery tasks such as compounding and maintaining our raw materials dilutions.
This is an entry level role and you will be working directly with Sam, our founder. You are not required to have any specific qualifications and you will learn all the required skills on the job, however, a demonstrable passion for perfumery is highly desired for this role. Any kind of chemistry background is a bonus but not required, however, strong basic maths skills are essential. This role offers avenues for future opportunities within the business as we grow.

- Passionate about perfumery (although no professional experience required)
- Comfortable handling fragrance chemicals safely (you will be given PPE)
- Good computer and maths skills

- Experience in chemistry is a bonus but not required
Summary of key tasks & responsibilities:
- Filling our perfumery raw materials into containers for retail sale (primary responsibility initially)
- Operating our filling machines
- Manual filling techniques like pipetting and spatula filling
- Melting down semi-solid materials and handling appropriately
- Applying labels to finished products
- Regulatory documentation management
- Helping organise product documentation (e.g. SDS, IFRA & EU Allergens certificates)
- Entering technical data into our database from product documentation
- Updating product information in our online store from our raw materials database
- Forwarding regulatory documents in response to customer requests
- Inventory management
- Recording manufactures in our inventory management software
- Ensuring that stock levels in our online store and inventory management software are accurate and up to date
- Keeping batches tracked in an organised manner
- Perfumery lab work
- Making and refreshing raw material dilutions
- Compounding perfume trials and batches
- Keeping samples organised and labelled properly
- Helping customers with product information and suggestions regarding raw materials
- Contributing to product descriptions and trial formulations for our database and website
