Aldehyd C10 ist eines der klassischen aliphatischen Aldehyde, die mit der Einführung von Chanels berühmtem Parfüm Nummer 5 berühmt wurden. Natürlich kommt es in Zitrusschalenölen vor und trägt zum hellen Funkeln dieser Öle bei. Es ist sehr stark und riecht allein ölig und zitrusartig. Es ist in Spurenmengen wirksam, um Parfümkompositionen einen funkelnden Lift zu verleihen.
