Oceanal was released to the public for the first time in 2025, previously an exclusive "captive" molecule for use by in-house IFF perfumers only. It's similar in both smell and structure to Veramoss, which is naturally found in Oakmoss Absolute, but possesses a slight swampy-marine facet, similar to Cypress Absolute. It's useful for adding longevity and volume to finished perfume compositions and applicable in all of the same contexts as Veramoss, for example; Fougère style accords.
