Anisyl alcohol is a fruity-floral molecule which smells like soft heliotrope and hawthorn blossoms with powdery and raspberry facets. It's delicate and balmy and occurs widely in nature. Very useful for fruity berry accords (e.g. raspberry) as well as a wide array of floral accords; you could say it's a key component in the perfumer's floral toolkit as a structural building-block. For a stronger fruity-berry aspect, try its close relative Anisyl acetate.
