Aldehyde C12 Lauric komt in verschillende kwaliteiten (afhankelijk van fabrikant en materiaalversheid), en deze is een wereld apart van de goedkopere die je elders kunt kopen. Voor de neus van de parfumeur hier bij The Fragrance Foundry, ruikt het naar verse stoom die uit het strijkijzer komt tijdens het strijken van kleren. Het is nuttig voor het creëren van effecten zoals wierook of stoom in parfumerie, of vaker om een parfum lift, sprankeling en frisheid te geven wanneer het in kleine doses wordt gebruikt. Extreem krachtig zoals de andere alifatische aldehyden, dus verdunnen wordt aanbevolen.
