Il Raspberry ketone non è sempre il materiale più facile con cui lavorare; molti profumieri hanno difficoltà ad annusarlo da solo o anche in diluizione. Offre un aroma pulito di zucchero filato-fruttato che può essere abbastanza sottile, ma molto utile nell'aggiungere una sensazione fruttata-bacca ai profumi. Mentre non crea una raffigurazione accurata dell'odore dei lamponi da solo (vedi Robertet's Raspberry base per quello), è comunque molto utile come materiale core negli accordi di bacche e più in generale come potenziatore nelle moderne composizioni di profumi, in particolare per aiutare a creare un tocco divertente e fruttato.
