A cetona de framboesa nem sempre é o material mais fácil de trabalhar; muitos perfumistas têm dificuldade em cheirá-la sozinha ou mesmo em diluição. Oferece um aroma limpo de algodão-doce frutado que pode ser bastante subtil, mas muito útil para adicionar uma sensação frutada-berry às perfumes. Embora não crie uma representação precisa do cheiro de framboesas sozinha (veja a base de Framboesa da Robertet para isso), é não obstante muito útil como material central em acordes de bagas e mais geralmente como um realçador em composições de perfume modernas, em particular para ajudar a criar um toque divertido e frutado.
