Like Helvetolide and Edenolide, Romandolide is an acyclic musk, a modern class of musk odourants with a top note effect. Romandolide is a clean, smooth and soft musk which is not particularly animalic in character. It leans towards Galaxolide in smell but is biodegradable and is therefore increasingly being used as a replacement for it.
