If you had to choose one piece of equipment that's really worth investing in for perfumery, it would probably be a precision balance. A good set of scales allows you to accurately weigh small amounts, meaning you can reduce the size of your trials and save on raw material expenditure.
This set of scales is made for a scientific laboratory, allowing you to weigh out your perfume formulas with 0.001g precision. The scale includes a calibration weight and power adapter, although it can also be powered with a 9v battery. A wind-shield is also provided to help mitigate against minute weight deviations due to air currents. This scale offers excellent value as an entry level professional scale.

I’ve just started an online perfumery course so I’ve been busy researching and sourcing the basic equipment needed to get me started. I was torn between buying a cheaper less accurate scale to begin with but the reviews of this won me over. I’m so glad I bought this because the greater accuracy allows me to confidently experiment with smaller quantities, which will save on materials in the long run.

Balance is very easy to use and also very good. Materials online look great. Fast shipping. Very happy customer.
Only thing to add is maybe add an Instruction sheet to help set up pieces, but no big deal.
I was really anxious that this scale wouldn’t cover my needs as a beginner perfumer, but it works great!!
