Cucumber aldehyde (known chemically speaking as 2,6-Nonadienal) is a watery green note found in nature which is responsible for the distinctive smell of cucumbers. It's also found in violets and melons amongst other places. This is a classic staple of violet leaf accords but can also be used for natural freshness in traces or modern savoury green effects (like cucumber of course...) in higher doses.
