Aldehyde C9 (Nonanal) is one of the classic aliphatic aldehydes used to give sparkle and lift in perfumery. On its own it has a sparkling citrus smell, however in practice its used for its freshening effect on a composition and works well in trace amounts. It's useful in floral compositions, and in roses in particular.
