Often described as a pineapple smell. When pure it smells like vomit in my opinion. However upon further dilution to 0.1% the green pineapple side comes out. It's far longer lasting then the much juicier and recognisable pineapple notes of Allyl Hexanoate or Allyl Heptanoate, and thus is useful for extending the longevity of a pineapple accord. It gained notoriety for its use in perfumes such as Creed's Aventus, due to it's ability to provide a crisp and strongly projecting aspect to a composition, even when used in trace amounts, which is the main reason it's now widely used.
