Ambrostar is the latest release by Symrise, finally made available in 2025 after being reserved in-house for their own perfumers as a "captive molecule" for many years prior.
This extremely powerful woody amber molecule does not disappoint. It's said to be 20x more powerful than Ambrocenide and offers an extremely diffusive woody note with a cedarwood character and ambergris nuances. Excellent for adding power and volume to woody accords.

In terms of order of magnitude, I would say Ambrocenide and Ambrostar are comparable, and Ambrostar is of course desirable for being a liquid. It has the classic woody amber profile we have come to know, in the same ballpark as other products like Norlimbanol though less dry and less sharp than Ambrocenide. I have found it useful below 0.1% of the concentrate, and it should be balanced with equally tenacious products. Natural woods help to soften it, as well as most musks.
Very well packed and arrived super duper quick.
This Patchouli aroma chemical, in my opinion is the best smelling patchouli around, very long lasting scent. Thank you.
