Amyl salicylate is a classic aromachemical, instantly recognisable by many due to its heavy use in traditional Fougère (barbershop / "gentleman's" style) fragrances. It provides a relatively long lasting crisp abstract note with clean, powdery nuances. It's also traditionally used in clover and orchid accords.
