Aurantiol is a long lasting sweet-floral raw material which is reminiscent of orange blossom. It's the most famous example of a "Schiff's base" in perfumery, made from the reaction of hydroxycitronellal with methyl anthranilate. Aurantiol is classically used in Cologne style (fresh citrus) compositions, however is also finds other uses in the modern perfumery palette as a versatile mid note.
