This cardamom essential oil is produced by Biolandes, a well respected manufacturer. Quite simply put, this is a nice example of the essential oil and captures well the distinctive smell of Cardamom. Exhibits spicy and earthy tonalities and blends nicely with Vanillin and musks in particular, as is done in compositions like la nuit de l'homme.
From the manufacturer:
Cardamom oil is one of the oldest known essential oils. Its distillation is described in reports by Valerius Cordus dating from 1540. This plant of the ginger family is cultivated in Guatemala and India. Encased in green pods, its seeds contain an essential oil. The spice itself is used in Indian curries and to flavor the well-known “Arabic coffee.”
