Cis-3-hexenyl salicylate combines the soft enveloping blender capabilities of benzyl salicylate with the fresh cut green grass smell of cis-3-hexenol. The key benefit compared to cis-3-hexenol is that the fresh cut grass note is less extreme (i.e. more subtle) and lasts a lot longer. It's much fresher than benzyl salicylate, which is sweet and balsamic. Use cis-3-hexenyl salicylate in a similar way to benzyl salicylate; for padding out accords with a subtle but encompassing spring fresh air note, or alternatively, for extending the cis-3-hexenol note in the more niche green-type compositions.
