There are many different patchouli products out there, but this Patchouli "Heart" fraction from Albert Vieille is a clear winner. This is a far cry from the sharp and aggressive herbal cheap patchouli essential oils found in the mass market. This offering is instead clean, smooth and refined - in fact if you'd only ever smelled the aforementioned, you might not even realise that this is patchouli. This patchouli oil is reminiscent of sweet cashmere and lends itself exceptionally well the the construction of a variety of base note accords in perfumery, being well suited to the classic French amber accord in particular (blend a larger amount of Vanillin with smaller amounts of Labdanum Absolute and this Patchouli oil).
