Petitgrain Bigarade is the essential oil extracted from the leaves and twigs of the bitter orange tree and is one of the key raw materials around which the original Eau de Cologne formulation centred around. Today this raw material is still used a lot in modern perfumery, in particular for creating neroli notes in fragrances (since it is extracted from the same plant and shares a similar olfactory profile despite being a fraction of the price of Neroli absolute). This oil is a high quality example from Capua conjures up images of the Mediterranean upon opening the bottle.
