Raspberry ketone is not always the easiest material to work with; many perfumers have trouble smelling it alone or even in dilution. It offers a clean candyfloss-fruity aroma which can be quite subtle, but very useful in adding a fruity-berry feeling to perfumes. While it doesn't create an accurate depiction of the smell of raspberries alone (see Robertet's Raspberry base for that), it's none the less very useful as a core material in berry accords and more generally as an enhancer in modern perfume compositions, in particular to help create a fun and fruity flair.
