Vanilla is a classic in perfumery, always popular with those who could afford it and used in perfumes for centuries due to it's sweet, woody, enveloping smell. This particular absolute extract from Biolandes does not fail to impress. If you're looking for a rich and complex true vanilla odour profile in contrast to the popular and far cheaper vanillin, then this is the stuff to use.
From the manufacturer:
The vanilla plant is an orchid native to Mexico. Its cultivation has gradually spread to several other countries, making it one of the world’s most widely consumed spices. Today Madagascar is the leading producer of Vanilla planifolia beans, its “Bourbon” quality being the most highly prized. Biolandes’ factory in Ambanja, Madagascar, sources vanilla beans from selected growers in the famous “Vanilla Triangle” in the northeast part of the country.

Deep, rich, creamy vanilla. I bought this immediately TFF started to ship to the United States, after a long wait! It was fulfilled and delivered promptly in good condition.
I will probably use this in my current perfume. See my eval below for more details. Thanks, Sam!
As someone who regularly makes tinctures and extracts from Haitian, Bourbon, Madagascar, and Mexican vanilla pods, I can say this Vanilla Absolute Organic from Biolandes is one of the closest materials I have smelled to the true essence of the vanilla pod itself.
This is not simple sweet vanillin. This smells alive, dark, rich, woody, leathery, slightly smoky, and completely true to its form.
Even at 1% dilution the material is powerful and unmistakable. Ethanol gradually breaks it down over time, and regular agitation is part of the process. Real materials behave like this.
What impressed me most is how faithfully it captures the real cured vanilla pod and vanilla puree character. I have had this on a scent strip for 3 days already and it is still beautiful.
This is the difference between smelling vanilla flavouring and smelling real vanilla.
Very competitive pricing for the quality being offered.
Excellent quality from The Fragrance Foundry once again.
I have nothing to say.
This raw material is amazing and complex, I diluted it at 10% and 1%, 10% it is a warm amber vanilla smell and at 1% you really smell the vanilla, I can't wait to add it to my perfumes.
An absolutely exquisite vanilla—rich, dark, and complex. I'm very happy with the material and, as always, received amazing service from Sam. Thank you very much
